I was born in Port Hueneme, California, in Southern California. I grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, with a fine arts degree, where I majored in drawing.
“I aim to express the inner through the rugged exterior”
While attending college I designed and created custom men’s swimwear, which was sold under my brand, JustinsWear. After graduation I moved to Brooklyn, New York, where i taught myself to paint.
Since moving to Brooklyn, I have exhibited my paintings around the country, in shows in Atlanta, Manhattan, and Miami, during Art Basel 2013.
I’m currently attending the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC, studying fashion design with a focus on leather apparel. I’m a working artist/painter and I’ve also been creating my own clothing samples, as well as those of other fashion designers, with the goal of mass production.
My ultimate mission in fashion is to create custom streetwear that will help others “stand out.”
I relate my design aesthetic to my paintings, in the sense that I use bold lines in my pattern-making, and I incorporate high contrast fabrics in order to set one apart from the crowd.
My style can be best described as a transcending “masculine mix of homoerotic pop-art.”
